Abstract

This community service focuses on the vulnerability of children in the marginalized areas of the Ciliwung River banks to the negative impacts of digital information flow due to low media literacy. The main objective of this community service activity is to empower the children of the Mat Peci Community through the strengthening of educational media literacy, in order to foster critical attitudes, media ethics, and the ability to filter information. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving observation, socialization, and interactive simulation sessions specifically designed for children. The results of the service show positive dynamics, where children begin to show an understanding of the dangers of hoaxes, cyberbullying, and the importance of limiting screen time. This activity triggers the emergence of new awareness and social transformation at the grassroots level, equipping the younger generation of Mat Peci with the digital intelligence essential for their future.
